ITF tour: Abdominal muscle strain stops Verena Meliss

On Monday of this week, Verena Meliss made it into the top 500 of the WTA world rankings for the first time in her career. The 22-year-old from Kaltern, number 496 in the world, went into the $15.000 tournament in Monastir in Tunisia as the top favorite and was already clearly leading 6-2 in her first round match against Swiss wild card Aline Thommen before she had to give up due to an abdominal muscle strain.
