ITF tournament in Bolzano: South Tyroleans in singles outside

The South Tyrolean tennis players Maximilian Figl and Manuel Plunger missed out on reaching the second round of the ITF tournament in Bolzano.

Maximilian Figl lost to Swiss qualifier Maurus Malgiarita 1:6 and 6:7. The 19-year-old from Kalter had to admit defeat 8:10 in the tiebreak of the second set. Manuel Plunger from Partschins lost to Giorgio Tabacco from Sicily with 0:6 and 3:6.

From a South Tyrolean perspective, there was a sense of success on Tuesday in doubles. Christian Fellin and Nicola Rispoli won against Fossati/Speziali 7:5, 3:6 and 10:7. Figl/Plunger, however, missed out on the quarter-finals against Argentina's Barrena/Bautista Otegui (6:7 and 2:6).
