ITF: Weis and Fellin move into the main draw

On Monday in Spain, Weis from Bolzano eliminated host Pol Amoros Romas in two sets 6:1, 6:3. The next day, Weis, who was seeded number 3 in the qualification, also defeated the Portuguese Alfonso Salgado 6:1, 7:5. The South Tyrolean faces the Brazilian Rafael Matos (ITF 217) in the main draw.

Manfred Fellin, on the other hand, is in the main draw in Antalya. The man from Brixen had no trouble on Monday in the 6:2, 6:0 win against the Hungarian Oliver Varga-Toth; on Tuesday the Greek Michalis Sakellaridis was waiting. The top seeded Fellin clearly won 6:0, 6:4. In the main field, the man from Brixen will meet another qualifier in round 1, the Romanian Victor Vlad Cornea.

Rungger Trio fails in qualification However, the three TC Rungg players, Horst Rieder, Moritz Tocker and Tobias Kirchlechner, were eliminated from qualifying. Völser Rieder lost in Antalya in round one against host Kuzey Cekirge 2:6, 1:6, while Trocker lost to Andrea Turco 3:6, 1:6 in Casale Monferrato.

Kirchlechner, however, made it one lap further. The 16-year-old from Eppan played only his second match on the ITF tour on Monday: He celebrated his first victory on the tour against the Brazilian Elio Josè Ribeiro Lago in the super tiebreak with 2:6, 6:2, 10:7. In the second round, Kirchlechner lost 1:15, 3:6 against the Italian Leonardo Taddia after 1:6 hours of play. Hofer in the Tabarka peloton Verena Hofer is already in the main field of the $15.000 tournament in Tabarka. The Val Gardena woman, number 3 on the seeding list and 865 in the WTA computer, will meet the Argentinian Julieta Lara Estable (ITF 442) at the start on Wednesday. Already this afternoon, Hofer and compatriot Irene Lavino won the doubles in the Italian derby against Carola Cavelli/Camilla Diez 7:5, 6:0. In the quarterfinals the “Azzurre” will play against Agustina Chlpac/Ani Vangelova.

ITF: Weis and Fellin move into the main draw

Alexander Weis and Manfred Fellin qualified for the $15.000 ITF tournaments in Valldoreix and Antalya on Tuesday. For Horst Rieder, Moritz Trocker and Tobias Kirchlechner, however, qualification was over.
