Jannik Sinner wins ITF tournament in Trento

For the Pusterer it is the first ITF title ever after he lost the final in St. Christina in August of the previous year. Sinner is currently in the form of his life and, after winning the Challenger a week ago in Bergamo, has now secured his second title in two weeks. The tennis teenager celebrated his 14th victory in the last 18 days on Sunday. Sinner is only the second South Tyrolean to win the tournament in Trento. In 2006, Thomas Holzer won the doubles with Simone Vagnozzi.

After his victories against the French Albano Olivetti, Jules Okala, Antoine Cornut Chauvinc and the German Elmar Ejupovic, Sinner also defeated Jeremy Jahn. The German, number 5 in the seed list and 387 in the world, won the ITF tournament in Rungg three years ago. As usual, Sinner started very strongly and pulled away to 5:2 with two breaks. After exactly half an hour he secured the first set with 6:3 points. In the second half of the game, both players took one service from each other until the score was 5:4 from Sinner's point of view. Then the Pusterer showed his class once again and managed the decisive break to make the final score 6:4.

With this tournament victory, Sinner received $3.600 in prize money and three ATP points. The South Tyrolean will appear in the ATP computer at number 322 from Monday.
