Jannik Sinner returns to the tennis stage

Matteo Berrettini (world ranking position 7), Jannik Sinner (10), Lorenzo Sonego (27), Fabio Fognini (37) and doubles specialist Simone Bolelli are in action for Italy at the ATP Cup. In Group B, the Azzurri will face hosts Australia, Russia (which is severely weakened due to Corona and has to do without Andrey Rublev, among others) and France, which is replacing Austria. After the failures of top players Dominic Thiem and Dennis Novak, the Alpine republic no longer meets the criteria for participation in the cup. Sinner is one of the favorites with the Azzurri Italy will face Australia at the start, with Jannik Sinner starting off: The young star will face James Duckworth, number 7.30 in the world, on Sunday morning at 49 a.m. (CET). Sinner has already played against the 29-year-old three times, winning in Cologne in 2020 and in Sofia last year. Italy, which only had to bow to Russia in the final last year, is one of the big favorites for this year's edition.
