Jannik Sinner takes the next hurdle

Jannik Sinner remained without losing a set in his second appearance in the Bulgarian capital. He defeated the outsider Marc-Andrea Hüsler 2:19, 6:3 after an hour and 6 minutes of play.

The 19-year-old acted as before his opening win against Marton Fucsovics , very consistent and never really allowed the qualifier from Switzerland (ATP 149) to get going. In the end, the decisive factor for the second round victory was Sinner's serve game, which he managed to get through in all 10 attempts. The Swiss certainly showed signs of his ability over the course of the game, but Sinner was no match for him that afternoon. Now the duel between the top talents awaits The task for the youngster from Sexten on Thursday is likely to be significantly more difficult, as he will then see the 21-year-old Australian Alex de Minaur again. Both met a year ago at the Next Gen final in Milan, when Sinner achieved his most important tournament victory to date with a crystal clear victory. Since then, the 44th in the world rankings and the ATP number 25 from Down Under have not faced each other again.
