Jose Hernandez-Fernandez is the King of Bolzano - UPDATE

Against the Chilean Bastian Malla, number six on the seeding list, the world number 296 was behind 1:3, but then won the first part of the game 6:4. In the second set, Malla fended off three match points on his own serve before being powerless in the fourth and the score was sealed 6:4, 6:4. Hernandez-Fernandez lived up to his role as favorite in Bolzano because he was top seed in the singles. The tennis professional from Santo Domingo was ranked 179th in the world rankings last year, but then fell back in the rankings.
