Karin Knapp is in the round of 16 in Bagnatica - Mayr fails in the doubles

Karin Knapp survived the first round of the $10.000 tournament in Bagnatica in Lombardy without any problems. The top seed, 25-year-old from Ahrntal, clearly beat Francesca Palmigiano, number 992 in the world rankings, 6:3, 6:2 . Knapp is currently number 130 in the WTA ranking, while Palmigiano only slipped into the main draw as a lucky loser after Erika Zanchetta had to miss out on a start.
