Karin Knapp moves into a doubles final for the third time

Karin Knapp and her Italian doubles partner confidently defeated number three seeded twin sisters Lyudmyla and Nadiia Kichenok 6:3, 6:1.

The two Azzurres set the standards from the start in the semi-final duel and never really let their opponents from Ukraine come into play. While they were able to keep up in the first round, they had to give up in the second set and finally admit defeat after exactly 60 minutes of play.

Karin Knapp secured a place in a doubles final on the WTA Tour for the third time in her career. A tournament victory was sometimes denied her. But that should change on Sunday in the final in Katowice. There she and Gioia Barbieri will meet either the Belgian-Dutch duo Ysaline Bonaventure/Demi Schuurs or the French Alizè Bonet and the Polish Magda Linette.
