Kyrgios insulted after freaking out

What happened? Kyrgios, who felt disturbed by the movements in the audience, burst his collar when the score was 1-1 in the third set when he received his third warning for unsportsmanlike behavior from the referee. This resulted in a so-called “game penalty”, which meant that his opponent Casper Ruud was “gifted” a game. The Australian then completely freaked out: First, Kyrgios threw his racket to the ground, then he threw a chair onto the court before he packed his bag and left the court. The “Bad Boy” was then disqualified.

Since it was not his first and possibly not his last escapade, TV commentator Prue MacSween harshly criticized Kyrgios on Australian TV: “He should have been beaten as a child. He's a spoiled little Greek brat. He will probably be treated like a prince. He's a little creep and it makes me sad to say he's Australian."

Even though MacSween backtracked a little later and said that she loved Greeks, she was accused of racism. For information: Kyrgios was born in Canberra, father Giorgos is Greek, mother Norlaila is Malay. Federer defends Kyrgios Roger Federer, however, defends the 24-year-old: “Personally, I don’t think he should be suspended. He left the court. What has he done? Did he hurt a chair? I mean, that's not enough for me. He knows it was a mistake."
