Montana tennis tournament again a complete success

For the first time, the beginning of August was chosen as the hosting period for the tournament in the Unterland. This should pay off, because around 130 tennis players from South Tyrol and Trentino - significantly more than last year - met on the two courts on the Dolomitenstrasse in Montan and the one in Auer.

Gitzl and Costaperaia win the tournament The victories in the eagerly awaited finals on Sunday ultimately went to the big favorites: Daniel Gitzl (3.1) from TC Rungg claimed the men's title, while TC Bozen player Anna Costaperaia (3.1) took the trophy in the women's category. Gitzl clearly prevailed in the final against Damian Lorenzi from Kalter with 6:3, 6:1 and thus remained without losing a set throughout the entire tournament. After her confident entry into the final, Costaperaia benefited from the injury-related retirement of Sara Rizzolli, who suffered a thigh strain in the semifinals and ultimately had to throw in the towel in the final with the score at 3:6, 1:4.

The women's final in the 4th category also ended early. Karin Oberparleiter had to give up when the score was 6:2, 4:6, 1:3. At this point, Nadia Brunel from TC Tramin had already set the course for her first tournament victory. In the men's category, the favored Terlano Maximilian Thaler won the 4th category final after a marathon performance against the self-sacrificing Manuel Gasser with 6:4 4:6 6:4. Manuel Gasser and Maximilian Thaler had a tough fight.

Montana tennis tournament again a complete success

For ten days there was a lot of activity at the ATC Montan tennis facility. The program included the fifth edition of the national FIT tournament, which was reserved for players in the 3rd and 4th categories for the third time in a row.
