Next win: Sinner can also do doubles

South Tyrol's tennis players are causing quite a stir these days - and not just in singles. Jannik Sinner has achieved the feat of just a few hours after reaching the singles semi-finals also reach the round of the last 4 in doubles. Together with Paolo Lorenzi, who is 20 years older than the Sexten native, Sinner gave Pablo Cuevas and Maximo Gonzales no chance. After 66 minutes, the duo converted their first match point – the final score was 6:3, 6:3.

Sinner/Lorenzi got off to a dream start, immediately moved ahead to 4-1 and didn't let this lead be taken away from them. In the second half of the game, the duo managed to break the score to 4:3 in the seventh game. So the South Americans' resistance was broken and the second victory was secured within a few hours.

The Pusterer is now in an ATP semi-final for the first time in doubles - as in singles. On Saturday Sinner/Lorenzi will meet the Dutch Sander Arends/David Pel.

No double semi-finals for Seppi Andreas Seppi and compatriot Thomas Fabbiano were eliminated in the doubles semi-finals of the ATP 250 tournament in Moscow on Friday evening. The duo had to admit defeat to number 4 seeds Marcelo Demoliner/Matwe Middelkoop 3:6, 5:7 in the semi-finals.

Seppi played his 14th ATP doubles semi-final on Friday. The last time he was in the semi-finals was three years ago in Dubai with Simone Bolelli. The Italians won the title back then, and today the final stop was in the semi-finals.

Seppi/Fabbiano immediately fell behind 1:4 and had to give up the first set 43:3 after 6 minutes of play. In the second half of the game, Demoliner/Middelkoop managed to break the score to 2-1 in the third game. The Azzurri didn't give up yet and secured the rebreak to make it 4-4. A little later the opponents got the next break. In the following game they closed the sack to make it 7:5. Despite this defeat, Seppi/Fabbiano can console themselves with $13.200 in prize money.
