In Rome: dpa journalist Manuel Schwarz.

Not all South Tyroleans come because of Jannik

He is the crowd favorite at Foro Italico and can't take a step without being asked for an autograph or a selfie. Many South Tyroleans were also in Rome in the last few days to cheer on Jannik Sinner. Not just his parents Sieglinde and Hans Peter. But there are also South Tyroleans who don't come because of him.

On Wednesday during the match against Fabio Fognini, someone suddenly sat next to me in the press box and spoke to me: Manuel Schwarz from St. Leonhard in Passeier. He works as a Rome correspondent for the renowned German Press Agency (dpa) in the Eternal Place. He is at the Foro Italico to report on Olympic champion Alexander Zverev.
