Number 9 in the world: Sinner is penetrating new spheres

Sinner is not only the first South Tyrolean to make it into the top 10, but also only the fifth player from Italy to achieve this feat. Previously, only Adriano Panatta (4th), Corrado Barazzutti (7th), Matteo Berrettini (7th) and Fabio Fognini (9th) had made it into this select circle.

A decision could come this week at the Masters 1000 tournament in Paris-Bercy. Sinner is seeded there at number 8 and enters the second round after a bye. There he could then meet the Spanish top talent Carlos Alcaraz (ATP 2). The 35-year-old also made it to the semi-finals in Vienna. In Paris-Bercy, Alcaraz will play against Frenchman Pierre-Hugues Herbert (ATP 18) in the first round.

By the way: If there is still uncertainty about participation in the finals in Turin after Paris, the ATP 250 tournament in Stockholm (November 8th to 14th) will finally provide clarity.
