Pietro Orlando Fellin moves into the main field in Rungg

The 18-year-old surprise man Fellin, who lives and trains in Monza, kicked number 2 seeded Brit Toby Martin (ATP 739) out of the tournament 7:5, 6:3. In the late afternoon, Fellin continued his winning streak and clearly brought compatriot Nicolò Inserra to his knees 6:1, 6:2. Horst Rieder, on the other hand, clearly prevailed in round 1 against Tobias Kirchlechner from Eppan with 6:2, 6:1. The 22-year-old from Völs then had to bow to Winkler's conqueror Lorenzo Rottoli in the super tiebreak 2:6, 3:4, 6:5 in the second, decisive qualifying round in the afternoon.

Bad luck for Brzezinski and Dryer Thanks to a wild card, the two South Tyroleans Sebastian Brzezinski and Moritz Trocker are already in the main field. However, both were unlucky on Monday: Brzezinski from Bolzano will meet number 1 seeded Italian Francesco Forti in round 2 on Tuesday, who is ranked 409th in the ATP world rankings. A difficult task awaits Trocker on Wednesday. Eight South Tyroleans took part in the qualification for the ITF Futures of the “Sparkassen Trophy” in Rungg on Monday. Only Pietro Orlando Fellin from Brixen made it into the main field.
