Prader wins the Open tournament in the Herzogspark in Bolzano

Since record winner and defending champion Thomas Holzer from Kaltern had to miss the event due to illness, Prader was the clear favorite at the Open tournament in Bozen's Herzogspark. In the end he was able to do justice to his role. In the quarterfinals he defeated David Kostner 6:4, 6:2, in the semifinals he prevailed against Philipp Köll 6:3, 6:3 and in the final he defeated Alessandro Cortegiani 6:4, 6:2 . All in all, a successful dress rehearsal for the TC Bozen ITF tournament, in which Patrick Prader will face top seed Ivo Klec in the first round on Tuesday.

There was also a favorite victory for the women. Deborah Chiesa, seeded number one, prevailed in the final round against Vera Ploner from TC St. Georgen 6:2, 3:6, 6:0. She had previously eliminated Silvia Saccani (6:2, 6:0) in the quarterfinals and Martina Furlanetto (6:3, 6:2) in the semifinals. On her way to the final, Ploner, however, knocked Aurora Urso (6:1, 6:0) and Sara Eccel (6:3, 6:1) out of the competition.

Prader wins the Open tournament in the Herzogspark in Bolzano

At the weekend, the 29-year-old Barbian secured victory in the TC Municipality of Bozen Open tournament for the Montecchio Trophy for the second time since 2012.
