Raiffeisen Grand Prix: Christanell and Zwerger win in Vipiteno

The top seed, 31-year-old Hannes Christanell, defeated Christian Fellin from Brixen, 18 years his junior, in the final in a hard-fought match in three sets with 7:6(2), 1:6, 7:5. In the semifinals, Christanell knocked Armin Graus out of the competition 6:3, 6:3, while Fellin was able to clearly hold his own against the number 2 seed, Klaus Kruselburger, 6:2, 6:1.

Among the women, Greta Zwerger lived up to her role as favorite. The 14-year-old from Brixen first defeated the 3.4 player Waltraud Kirchler in the semi-finals with 6:4, 7(6), then in the final she defeated number 2 seed Tamara Berger from ATC Bruneck in three sets with 4:6, 6:2, 6:3.

In the 4th category of the men's final, Thomas Schraffl from TC Brixen clearly defeated Stefan Constantini 6:3, 6:2. In the women's race, like at the first Raiffeisen Grand Prix four months ago in Vipiteno, the victory went to Mara Jungmann from Pusteria. She retained the upper hand in the final against Emelie Valentina Leimegger 6:4, 6:2.

Around 75 players took part in the national tennis tournament in the 3rd and 4th categories in Vipiteno, which is part of the Raiffeisen Grand Prix. While Hannes Christanell from TV Ahrntal won the men's competition, Greta Zwerger from Brixen won the women's competition.
