Turf premiere failed: Sinner loses in round 1

For Sinner, the tournament, worth 1,427 million euros, is the only preparatory tournament for Wimbledon (starts in exactly 2 weeks) and only the second ATP tournament on grass in which he is in the main draw. The man from Puster surprisingly had to admit defeat 4:4(309) and 6:7(6) in a teenage duel against Briton Jack Draper (ATP 6), who was 7 months younger than him. Sinner was initially the dominant player in the first set and promptly took a 1-4 lead.
