Rossi, Mair and Viertler win the national youth tournament in Merano

A total of 455 players between the ages of 8 and 16 took part in the Merano tournament. This tournament was ranked “5th”. National Youth Circuit FIT Babolat 2015” and was observed by the coaches of the Italian Tennis Federation. The winners receive a wild card for qualification at international youth tournaments.

Benjamin Rossi doesn't say a single sentence For the 16-year-old boys, the title went to Benjamin Rossi from the Rungg Tennis Club. In the final he clearly beat number 2 seeded Giacomo Poletti from Parma 6:2, 6:2. Rossi didn't drop a single set throughout the entire tournament. Among the girls of the same age, Aurora Zantedeschi from Verona defeated Serena D'Ercole from Friuli 6:1, 6:4 in the final. D'Ercole was surprisingly able to knock top seed Silvia Saccani from Gais out of the competition in the first round and Teresa Schwienbacher in the semi-finals. In the U14 age group, crowd favorite Marion Viertler from the Tennis Club Meran defeated Sara Ziodato from Trieste 3:6, 7:5, 6:2 in a very even and exciting final. In the boys U14, Giacomo Dambrosi from Friuli defeated Andrea Calogero 7:5, 6:4 in the final. He had previously defeated Sebastian Brzezinski, who was born in Poland but lives in South Tyrol.

U12: Laura Mair wins, Christian Fellin loses final In the U12 category, Laura Mair from Val Gardena lived up to her role as favorite and beat Arianna Zucchini from Ferrara 7:5, 6:0 in the final. In the final for the U12 boys, Christian Fellin from Brixen was defeated by Emilian Alessandro Gavelli 2:6, 3:6. In the U10 age group, the titles went to Federico Bondioli from Ravenna and Asia Bacchilega from Faenza.
