In the fourth game, Seppi had a great chance for a rebreak, but was unable to capitalize on it, while Basilashvili made it 3-1. Both players then delivered their serves confidently. In the tenth game, the Georgian had to fend off two break chances, but shortly afterwards converted his first match point to make the final score 6:4.

Successful in doubles with Carlos Berlocq

For Seppi, the tournament in Lyon is not over yet. After the top seeds Ivan Dodig (Croatia) and Marcel Granollers (Spain) were surprisingly unable to compete in the doubles due to injury, the Argentinian Carlos Berlocq and the Kalterer player were given their place in the main draw.
