Seppi triumphs at the ATP Challenger in Canberra

After the shaking victory in round 1 against the German Maximilian Marterer and the clear successes against Nathan Pasha, Guillermo Garcia Lopez and Victor Estrella Burgos, the “Azzurro” also had the upper hand against Fucsovics. It is the eighth Challenger title for the Kalterer, and Seppi can also look forward to 80 ATP points and $10.800 in prize money in his first participation in Canberra. The South Tyrolean is also making a big leap forward in the world rankings, where he will improve from 87th to 76th.

Preparing for the Australian Open Seppi can now look forward to the first Grand Slam tournament of the year, the Australian Open, more calmly. The Kalterer will play his opening match on Monday against the French wild card player Corentin Moulet (ATP 155).

In Melbourne, Seppi has to defend the fourth round and 180 world ranking points from last year. The next opponents after Moulet would probably be the German Philipp Kohlschreiber and the US boy Jack Sock. In order to stay in the top 100, reaching the third round should be enough after the Canberra victory.
