Seria A2: St. Georgen celebrates its first win of the season

TC St. Georgen won all three singles against Bisenzo Prato. Gabriella Polito and Verena Hofer only lost three games each in their two matches, while in the third game Lisa Tognetti, who was number 450 in the world ten years ago, gave up against the Slovenian Anja Prislan at 5:6 due to sunstroke. Polito and Vera Ploner then gave away the fourth point in the doubles match against Giulia Cascapera/Beatrice Parolai. After a 3-0 lead in the third, decisive set, they lost in the tiebreak with 3:7 points. On Sunday St. Georgen will play at home against TC Bologna and in two weeks the last game before the play-out will be on the program at the end of the championship at the bottom of the table with no points, Le Pleiadi.

TC Gemeinde is worried about staying in the men's series B

In district 1 of the men's Serie B, the TC Gemeinde Bozen absolutely had to win against Alba in order to still believe that they would stay in the league. But it was only enough for a 3:3 draw, because Christoph Steiner lost his singles against the 2.7 player Andrea Bonaffini in the third set with 5:7, 6:4, 5:7. This means that relegation for the Bolzano club can hardly be avoided.

In district 4, however, TC Bozen suffered a 2:4 defeat at the Country Time Club in Palermo. This means that the move into the playoffs is finally checked off. Captain Andrea Capodimonte had to give up against Alberto Cammarata after the 0:6 in the first set due to back problems. Philipp Köll and Tobias Tappeiner also lost their singles. Only Stefan Knapp celebrated a hard-fought three-set victory.

Seria A2: St. Georgen celebrates its first win of the season

On Sunday, TC St. Georgen celebrated an important 2-3 home win against TC Bisenzio Prato in the fight to stay in the women's Serie A1. In the men's Serie B, however, TC Gemeinde Bozen is worried about staying in the league, while TC Bozen lost 2-4 away in Palermo.
