Series C: Rungger men and women are national champions

Rungg A won the final away in St. Georgen, surprisingly clearly with 4-0 points. Thomas Schiessling was missing from the home team today. The women of TC Rungg are national champions for the third time For the women, TC Rungg secured the Serie C title for the third time with a 2-2 home draw in the “final” on Sunday against Meran. Rungg had to do without their top players Susan Bandecchi and Verena Meliss today and instead used Sophie Walzl as number 1. She then won the top game against Marion Viertler 7:6(5), 6:2 and thus took revenge for the previous year's defeat in this championship. Simone Kraner celebrated her second win against Clarissa Seidler with a smooth 6:0, 6:0. The championship was already decided after the individual matches, because a draw was enough for Rungg to win the title. Now the Übertescher women will play the regional final against the winner from Trentino, the winner will qualify for the Italian championship.

TC Bozen and St-Christina-Wolkenstein are relegated

TC Bozen has to be relegated from the men's series C to the D1 series. The Talferstädter lost the decisive play-out match against Rungg B at home with 3:4 points. “Man of the Match” was Benjamin Rossi, who won three of the four games and also had the upper hand in the decisive doubles together with Daniel Cleva. For the women, however, TC St. Christina-Wolkenstein finished the championship in the bottom of the table.
