Pella raises the white flag But that wasn't enough: Sinner gave Pella a real tennis lesson at the beginning of the second section, winning twelve points in a row and quickly moving away to 3-0. With the comfortable lead behind him, he became even more confident - the result was impressive point gains. However, the experienced Pella did not give up: first he fended off another Sinner break ball when the score was 1:4, only to realize his first break a few moments later - out of nowhere the set was open again. But just now, when Pella was getting better into the game, the Argentine injured his groin while lunging and had to give up after consulting a physiotherapist. It was the end of a match that Sinner had dominated for long stretches and ultimately deserved to win. Now a premiere duel awaits In the second round, the youngster will now face Alexei Popyrin (ATP 76), who eliminated the slightly favored German Jan-Lennard Struff (ATP 40) in two sets 6:3, 7:6 on Tuesday afternoon.
