Sinner's marathon victory on the Côte d'Azur

In this he led twice with a mini break, but it was still not enough to win the match. Barrere benefited from Sinner's carelessness, played strong points and won the second tiebreak 7:5 after exactly two hours. Barrere's nerves fail The decisive third movement rippled along at first. It wasn't until the score was 3-2 for Sinner that emotions ran high when he managed the break on the second attempt. However, the joy was short-lived: Barrere reported back immediately. The fact that the South Tyrolean didn't like this break at all became clear when he threw his bat. As soon as Sinner calmed down, Barrere broke again. But the local hero's nerves let him down and his opponent made it 5:5. In the following game, the youngster had to fend off break opportunities again before winning the match to zero after almost three hours thanks to a perfect game.
