Sinner's special preparation with Rome's football legend

The Masters tournament in Rome is in full swing and has already offered a big surprise with the elimination of Carlos Alcaraz. Things continue for Jannik Sinner on Tuesday. The preparation for his next match was special.

Jannik Sinner met Francesco Totti at the Foro Italico for a padel match. Italy's best tennis player and the AS Roma football legend promoted the sport, which is becoming increasingly popular. This is a combination of tennis and squash. The playing field is a smaller version of a tennis court and, like squash, is bordered by walls. Totti and Sinner faced each other in doubles in the Italian capital.

By the way, the ex-footballer showed up there with his new girlfriend Noemi Bocchi. The two also saw each other Alcaraz's completely surprising defeat against the Hungarian Fabian Marozsan from the stands.

The three games on Monday evening had to be canceled due to rain. Lorenzo Musetti was narrowly ahead in the third set against Frances Tiafoe, while Lorenzo Sonego had just lost the first set against Stefanos Tsitsipas. The Italians' two games and the Zverev match (he won the first set against JJ Wolf) will be played on Tuesday. However, the weather forecast for today isn't exactly rosy either. It's supposed to rain - at least lightly - all day long.

Jannik Sinner meets Francisco Cerundolo (ATP 11) in the third match after 31 a.m. In the direct duel against the Argentine it is 2-1 for Sinner. The South Tyrolean is the clear favorite against the 24-year-old - even if he is on Sunday evening had some problems against the Russian Alexander Shevchenko. If Sinner progresses, he could then meet Norwegian Casper Ruud (ATP 4) in the quarter-finals. But that is still a thing of the future.
