Sofia: Seppi eliminated in doubles with Bolelli

The 34-year-old Kalterer and his compatriot Simone Bolelli had to admit defeat to the Croatian Nikola Mektic and the Austrian Jürgen Melzer after 1:44 hours of play with 7:6(5), 6:7(5) and 6:10. In the second set, the “Azzurri” missed two match points.

In the second set, Seppi/Bolelli first moved to 3-0 and then, on their own serve, to 5-3 and 40-15, but were unable to use the two match balls. Mektic/Melzer equalized to 5:5 and then took the tiebreak after a 4:0 lead, just 7:5. In the decisive match tiebreak, Seppi/Bolelli led 3-0, but then lost seven points in a row and after 1:44 hours also the game with 6:10.

Next week at the ATP 500 tournament in Rotterdam Seppi is already in singles in Sofia Yesterday he failed in his opening game against Marton Fucsovics . The 26-year-old Hungarian won in two sets 6:2, 7:6. Next week Seppi will play at the ATP 500 tournament in Rotterdam, where last year he was only eliminated in the semifinals against Roger Federer after victories against Sousa, Zverev and Medvedev. Seppi therefore has to defend a whopping 180 ATP points in Rotterdam.
