St. Georgen and Bozen start the national team championship

Both leagues play in groups of seven. The bottom team in the group is relegated directly, the teams in the first three places play in the play-off for promotion, while the teams in fourth to sixth place fight in the play-out to stay in the league.

St. Georgen in the women's Serie A 2 St. Georgen competes in the women's A2 series with the same team as last year. The two strongest players are the 19-year-old Verena Hofer from Val Gardena (2.3) and Gabriella Polito (2.4) from Liguria, who is entering her twelfth season in the Pustertal. Also taking part are the Slovenian Anja Prislan, Vera Ploner, Jeannine Hopfgartner (all three 2.5) and Silvia Saccani (2.6). After second place last year and making it into the play-offs, the Puster women's goal this year is “only” to stay in the league.

For St. Georgen, the championship begins on Sunday away in Cesano Maderno, the first home game takes place on April 9th against Beinasco in the hall in Brixen.

Bolzano in the men's Serie B The Tennis Club Bozen has two new players on the team this year in the men's Series B, ex-professional Thomas Holzer from Kalter and Johannes Ager from Kramsach. The two 32-year-old 2.4 players are in captain Andrea Capodimonte's squad. Number one in Bolzano is still Joy Vigani from Brixen (2.3). Philipp Köll (2.5) from Meran and the homegrown Aliosha Bona (3.1), Tobias Tappeiner (3.2), Alex Laimer (3.4) and Matteo Bonvicini (4.1) are also in the squad.

Bolzano also begins the championship with an away match. On Sunday the Talferstädter will be guests at TC Italia in Forte dei Marmi in Tuscany. Two weeks later, on April 9th, TC Bozen hosts CT Bari at home.

Four more South Tyroleans in Serie B In addition, four other South Tyroleans are taking part in the Serie B this year. Alexander Weis from Bolzano (2.4) and Matthias Wolf (2.5) are playing in Trento, while the two Pusterer sisters Julia and Evelyn Mair (both 2.6) are registered in the women's Serie B at Mestre are. A total of 15 South Tyroleans will be in action in Series A2 and Series B from Sunday.

St. Georgen and Bozen start the national team championship

The Italian Team Championships of Serie A26 and Serie B in tennis begin on Sunday, March 2th. A week earlier than last year and again with two South Tyrolean teams. TC St. Georgen is competing in the women's A2 series for the tenth time in a row, while TC Bozen is registered in the men's series B.
