Top tennis at the Sparkassen Trophy from Saturday

The tennis tournament is one of the highlights of the South Tyrolean sports summer. At the 1998 Premier, it was not expected that the satellite tournament with modest prize money of $6.250 would become such a traditional event. The tournament grew from year to year and is now in the highest Futures category (prize money of $25.000 plus hospitality). In professional circles, the “Sparkassen Trophy” is also considered one of the best future tournaments in the world. Due to its good reputation, this year's French Open semi-finalist, Marco Cecchinato, has also been a guest in Rungg.

There are some interesting players to see again this year. One of the highlights is certainly the appearance of Geoffrey Blancaneaux. The 19-year-old Frenchman has already won the French Open in the junior division. Ever since this triumph, he has been considered one of France's greatest tennis talents.

From a South Tyrolean perspective, the qualifying field of 48 players is particularly interesting. This was introduced for the first time last year to give local young players the opportunity to get a taste of professional life. A step that shows that the “Sparkassen Trophy” always focuses on the future hopes of South Tyrolean tennis.

Program The game is not only about prize money, but also about 35 points for the ATP world rankings. Top tennis at the Sparkassen Trophy from Saturday

The Sparkassen Trophy is celebrating its 21st edition this year: once again, tennis professionals from all over the world will be taking part in the ITF Futures ($4) in Rungg/Girlan from August 11th to 25.000th. It starts on Saturday and entry is free as usual.
