ITF: Vigani and Tröbinger eliminated

Vigani, who qualified directly for the main draw in Egypt thanks to a wild card, was unlucky at the start. The 21-year-old from Brixen met the top favorite from Bosnia, Aldin Setkic, in round 1. The world number 205 clearly won the first set 6:1, Vigani showed his best tennis in the second part of the game, but was narrowly defeated in the tiebreak 1:22 after 7:4 hours of play.

Erwin Tröbinger was also eliminated in Croatia. In Rovinj, the Val Gardena native was in action in the second qualifying round today after his game on Monday had to be postponed twice due to rain. Tröbinger lost to the number 8 seeded German Julian Onken 4:6, 0:6.

Tomorrow South Tyrolean Quartet in Santa Margherita di Pula With Georg Winkler, Moritz Trocker, Horst Rieder and Alexander Weis, four players from TC Rungg are in the main draw of the $25.000 ITF tournament in Santa Margherita di Pula on Sardinia thanks to a wild card from the organizers. The first round matches were actually scheduled to take place on Monday and yesterday, but their games had to be postponed twice due to rain. The South Tyroleans hope to finally be able to intervene in the tournament tomorrow.

In the first round there will be a Rungger Derby between the two Völsers Winkler and Trocker, while Rieder has to play against the number 4 seeded Italian Lorenzo Giustino at the start. Weis' first round opponent is Italian qualifier Alessandro Ceppellini. The 20-year-old from Bolzano also plays in doubles with Trocker against the Italians Tommaso Gabrieli/Andrea Grazioso. Rieder/Winkler, who played their double match against Lenny Hampel/Johan Sebastien Tatlot yesterday, lost 1:6, 4:6.

ITF: Vigani and Tröbinger eliminated

Joy Vigani from Brixen and Erwin Tröbinger from Val Gardena were eliminated from the $15.000 ITF tournaments in Sharm El Sheikh and Rovinj on Wednesday.
