Nicholas Da Rin wins Volksbank Junior Grand Prix in Ortisei

In the U16 boys' category, Da Rin from Val Gardena narrowly eliminated his teammate Gabriel Moroder 6:1, 6:7(5), 7:5 in the semifinals and then defeated top seed Guido Plebani from Lazio in the final after another marathon match with 6:3, 4:6, 8:6. Among the girls of the same age, the victory went to Margherita Maria Sofia Dapunt from TC Rungg without a fight, as Martina Broggi from Partschins was no longer able to compete in the final.

Broggi had previously lost the U14 final against Rungger's Finja Steiner 7:6(4), 4:6, 2:6. In the U14 boys' category, Mario Andreotta from Cortina beat Jacopo Toffanin from TC Rungg 4:6, 6:4, 6:3.

In the U12 age group, the victories went to Kilian Dallapiazza from TC Ladinia and Katharina Unterthurner from TC Passeier, who had the upper hand in the final against Leonardo Kofler and Caterina Benedetti from the Tennis Club Merano.

In the U10, Kevin Vinatzer from Ladin defeated Filippo Garbero from Alessandria 6:1, 6:0 in the final, while Iris Tabarelli from Rung was able to narrowly hold on against Anna Trocker from Völs with 3:6, 6:3, 9:7.

The next Volksbank Junior Grand Prix tournament will take place on August 27th in Welsberg.

120 girls and boys from the U10 to U16 age groups took part in the 13th stage of the Volksbank Junior Grand Prix in Ortisei. Local hero Nicholas Da Rin prevailed among the U16 boys; the most successful club was TC Rungg, which won a total of three titles.
