Rossi and Moling win tournament in Lana

Almost 130 players took part in the very well-attended tournament. The winner's cup in the men's field went to Überetsch. Benjamin Rossi celebrated his third tournament victory in the 3rd category in Lana after he was able to assert himself in Haslach last year and in Trento this year. The man from Paulsen knocked Daniel Botti from Merano out of the competition in the quarter-finals with 6:4, 6:3, then in the semi-finals he defeated number 2 seed Aliosha Bona from Bolzano after falling behind in one set with 1:6, 6:3, 7:6. In the final he met Christian Fellin from Brixen, the cousin of professional tennis player Manfred Fellin, who defeated Mirko Zöschg from TC Gemeinde Bozen 6:4, 6:4 in the semifinals. Rossi, who celebrates his 13th birthday in 19 days, blasted Fellin 6-1, 6-1 in the final. “I am very satisfied with my performance. “I played well, made practically no mistakes and deserved to win,” said the high school graduate happily.

Among the women, Luianta Moling was once again at the top. The woman from Kaltern, who already won the spring tournament in Brixen this year, first eliminated local hero Manuela Liebl in two sets 6:1, 6:1 in the semifinals and faced U14 national champion Lena Untertrifaller in the final. The player from TC Rungg also clearly eliminated number 2 seed Alessia Piccoliori from Val Gardena 6:1, 6:2 in the second semifinal match. In the final, Untertrifaller had no chance: Moling dominated the match and was able to easily assert himself 6:2, 6:0. For Moling it was the first success in Lana, after she had to admit defeat to Valentina Eccel from Bolzano in the final last year.

Padovani and Steiner win the 4th category tournament The 4th category tournament was also held in Lana. In the men's final there was a duel in Bolzano between Mattia Padovani from CT Ussa and David Dima from Tennis Bauzanum. Padovani was able to prevail in three sets 6:2, 2:6, 6:2. In the women's event, however, Finja Steiner brought her teammate from TC Rungg, Simona Sedlak, to her knees with 6:2, 7:5.

Rossi and Moling win tournament in Lana
