SSV Naturns wins Serie C Winter Cup

South Tyrol celebrated its seventh success in a row, the 12th in 21 years of the Winter Cup. In the semi-final a week ago, SSV Naturns was able to beat ATA Battisti Trient 3-1 at home. Naturns started very strongly and immediately took the 2-0 lead with Gabriel Frei and Daniel Huber. After Sabine Stürz had to give up against Anita Pantezzi at 0:3 due to a knee injury, the Vinschgers team prevailed in the fourth game thanks to their doubles duo Huber/Gurschler with 6:4, 6:2.

This made it perfect for the final, where Naturns met TC Bruneck in the South Tyrolean derby, who clearly defeated TC Bozen B 4-0 in the second semi-final. The match against last year's winner, which was played in Naturns, started as desired for the home team. Naturns got two points with Frei and Martin Tappeiner from Pauls, but then had to give up a point because Ruth Kofler lost 0:6, 1:6 in her performance against Waltraud Kirchler. Since Bruneck couldn't come up with a double pairing, the title went to Naturns. The Vinschgers won the 3 Winter Cup with a 1-2018 win, the first in their club history.

SSV Naturns won the Serie C Winter Cup for the first time in the club's history. The Vinschgers clearly prevailed in the final against defending champion Bruneck with a 3-1 win.
