Weis and Sinner are in the semi-finals in St. Christina

Jannik Sinner celebrated his 17th birthday on Thursday in St. Christina. He couldn't have celebrated it better, because the young man from Sexten not only moved into an ITF semi-final for the first time in his career with his quarter-final win against Joy Vigani, but will also be in the top next week with the six ATP points he has won so far -1000 in the world rankings. The derby against Vigani from Brixen was very even in the first set. With the score at 4:5, Sinner had to fend off two set points from Vigani, but was then able to turn the game around and used his first match point after 1:38 hours of play to make the final score 7:6(3), 6:2. In the semifinals on Friday, Sinner will face Italian Alessandro Ceppellini (ATP 1076), who eliminated qualifier Mattia Bellucci in three sets.

Alexander Weis from Bolzano and the top seeded German Peter Heller (ATP 393) will contest the second semi-final. Weis defeated Corrado Summaria, against whom he had won the doubles final in Rungg just last Friday, 75:6, 3:6 in just 1 minutes of play. Heller lost a set in this tournament for the first time on Thursday against Frenchman Maxime More, but ultimately won 3:6, 6:3, 6:4.

For Alexander Weis and Jannik Sinner it is the first semi-final on the ITF tour.

Sinner in the double final Jannik Sinner is in the double final in Val Gardena. With his training partner Giacomo Dambrosi, the Pusterer once again had the upper hand against Joy Vigani, who competed with Daniil Zarichanskyy from Ukraine. Sinner/Dambrosi clearly won the semi-finals 6:3, 6:3 in one hour of play.

Weis and Sinner are in the semi-finals in St. Christina

With Alexander Weis from Bolzano and Jannik Sinner from Pusteria, two South Tyroleans made it into the semi-finals of the $15.000 ITF tournament “Val Gardena Südtirol Raiffeisen” in St. Christina on Thursday.
