South Tyroleans are successful on the ITF tour

On Sunday, Fellin won the last qualifying round against Manuel Bernard from Bolzano in two sets with 6:1, 6:2. On Monday, the man from Brixen faced world number 681, Jacopo Stefanini. Fellin won the first point, but then nothing worked out for the Brixner. Stefanini scored the next 12 points, winning the first set 6-1 and the second set 1-15 after 6:0 hours of play.

Rieder qualified in Antalya At the $15.000 tournament in Antalya, Horst Rieder moved into the main draw on Monday. The 20-year-old from Völs was seeded number 10 in the qualification in Turkey and defeated the Mexican Mauricio Resendiz (ATP 1305) 7:5, 6:4 in the last qualifying round. In the first round of the main draw, Rieder will face wild card Stefan Vujic from Australia in the second match after 13 p.m. CEST on Tuesday.

Winkler and Trocker reach Weis in the peloton in Cairo At the $15.000 tournament in Cairo, Georg Winkler and Moritz Trocker from Völs also managed to qualify for the main draw, where Alex Weis from Bolzano is already waiting. After a bye in the first round, Winkler won surprisingly clearly 1:6, 2:6 on Monday against number 1 seeded Czech Alessandro Ricci. Trocker, however, defeated the Italian Andrea Bessire, number 6 on the seed list, 7:5, 6:0.

On Tuesday Weis will play against the Czech David Poljak (ATP 11) at 729 a.m. Five hours later he also has to play doubles with his compatriot Francesco Bessire. The two “Azzurri” will meet Mauricio Alvarez-Guzman/Mazem Osama (Chile/Egypt) in the first round.

Moritz Trocker and Georg Winkler will also play their first round doubles match on Tuesday. At 16.30 p.m. they will face the Egyptians Mohab Hamed/Youssef Hossam. The two people from Völs will not play in singles until Wednesday. The number 3 seeded Brazilian Fernando Roboli (ATP 513) was drawn for Trocker, while Winkler was luckier and will play against the Egyptian qualifier Mohamad Gomaa.

Tröbinger and Ciechi were eliminated in Hammamet After Patric Prinoth, the two other Val Gardena players Erwin Tröbinger and Jonas Ciechi were also eliminated from the $15.000 tournament in Hammamet on Monday. In the second, decisive qualifying round, Tröbinger was defeated by the Italian Stefano Platania 3:6, 5:7, while Ciechi lost to his compatriot Federico Bertuccioli 1:6, 1:6.

Verena Hofer from Val Gardena, who celebrated her 20th birthday on Saturday, is already in the peloton in Hammamet. Her first round opponent is Ines Ibbou from Algeria, number 1119 in the world, who is two years younger. In doubles, Hofer and Serbian Tijana Spasojevic will face the Tunisian wild card duo Ferdaous Bahri/Feriel Mahbouli.
