South Tyrolean tennis madness: Seppi in the Moscow semi-finals

A bombshell performance and a burst of energy in the third set brought Andreas Seppi victory. After 2.09 hours, the Kalterer player converted the second match point against Karen Khachanov (ATP 8) and moved into the semi-finals for the second time in a row at the ATP 250 tournament in Moscow.

In the second half of the game, Seppi showed a great reaction: The Überetscher took the service from Khanchanov for the first time in the third game to make it 2-1. With the score at 4:3, the South Tyrolean tennis ace fended off four break chances before he broke Khachanov with his first set point in the following game to make it 6:3.

In the decisive third set, the Kalterer player showed extremely strong tennis. Although he was promptly behind 0-2, he then won six of the next seven games to make the final score 6-3. For the South Tyrolean it was also the 10th win in the 93rd duel against a top 10 player. Seppi's opponent in the semi-finals on Saturday is the Frenchman Adrian Mannarino (ATP 44).
