Tavernini and Costaperaria win youth tournament in Merano

Tavernini, a 3.4 player since July, eliminated the tournament's number 3, Stefano Piran, in the quarter-finals in Meran, then the number 2, Daniel Theiner, in the semi-finals and finally clearly defeated the top-seeded Lombard Christian Peroncini in the final 6-0, 6 :2.

Peroncini then took revenge in the U14 final, where he prevailed in three sets against Alessandro Gavelli from Faenza. In the semifinals, Peroncini defeated the U12 winner Jonas Masten. The U11 national champion, who plays for TC Meran, clearly won the final against Manuel Pavia from Lanan 6:3, 6:2. In the U10 final, two players from TC USSA, Daniel Lechner and Christian Bacher, faced each other and, like two months ago in the state championship final, Lechner won this time too.

In the U16 girls, Lechner's teammate Anna Costaperaria defeated Malser Sarah Pitscheider 7:5, 6:1. In the U14 and U12 age groups, however, TC Rungg celebrated a double victory. Both the U14 Lena Untertrifaller and the U12 Nena Meskova defeated Martina Broggi from Kaltern in the final.

Tavernini and Costaperaria win youth tournament in Merano

Daniel Tavernini from TC Bozen and Anna Costaperaria from TC USSA are the winners of the U16 age group at the national youth tournament “Junior's Championships”, which was held on the clay courts of TC Meran. A total of 90 young players took part in the tournament on Saturday.
