TC Meran dominates the Masters national championship

Only Leo Götsch from ASV Marling was able to defend his national championship title from last year. In the Over 65, the number 1 seeded 3.5 player Enzo Visintainer from Tennis Bauzanum shot 6:3, 6:1.

The local heroes from TC Meran won in the Over 45, Over 55 and Over 60 categories. In the O45, Renato Ercolani won the final against Herbert Chistè from ATC Algund 6:1, 6:2. In the final of the Over 55, Marco Endrizzi was at the top. In the final, with the score at 4:3, he benefited from the abandonment of last year's number 1 seeded winner from St. Pauls, Peter Plunger. In the Over 60, victory went to Luciano Boscolo. He brought last year's finalist Franco Tommasini from TC Bozen to his knees in two sets 7:6, 6:0. Tommasini had previously eliminated Karl Pircher, against whom he had lost in the final the previous year.

Michael Laimer caused a big surprise in the Over 45 (up to 4.3). The number 2 seeded player from ATC Algund defeated local hero and top favorite Bruno Marth in three sets 6:3, 3:6, 6:1 in the final.

TC Meran dominates the Masters national championship

The Masters Tennis State Championships took place this year on the clay courts of the TC Meran. The men from Meran were in impressive form and won three of the five titles awarded. However, a women's tournament was not held.
