With 129 participants (110 men and 19 women), Terlan was able to report a record number of participants. For the men, it was difficult to name a clear favorite this year after the cancellations of Rainer Hilpold and Lorenz Röggl. Of course, they had Alex Monauni on the bill and he solved task after task with flying colors: easy two-set wins in the round of 6 against Stefan Laimer (1:6, 2:6) and in the quarter-finals against Joachim Laimer (1:6, 4:6). and in the semi-final against Christian Luciani (2:6, 2:6) Monauni once again secured a place in the final in Terlan. Oliver Moser from Naturns was waiting there, who defeated the last Terlan hope, Christian Pircher, 3:6, 3:XNUMX in the round of XNUMX, and was already one point away from elimination in the quarterfinals against Wolfgang Prossliner from TC Rungg and still turned the game around. In the semifinals, Moser defeated Roberto Bordignon. In the final, which was only played on Monday due to rain, Monauni won the first set with 2:2 points after two breaks at 5:3 and 6:3. In the second period he was already leading 3:1, but Moser came back, equalized to 3:3, broke Monauni to 5:4 and a few minutes later brought home the second set 6:4. In the decisive third set, Monauni pulled away with a break to 4:2 and then converted his first match point to make the final score 6:2.

Katharina Mazoll surprisingly wins in the women's category The women's final, which took place on Saturday evening, was contested by two players who only had a few on the list at the beginning of the tournament: On the lower side of the table, Alexandra Rienzner, who was born in Brixen and lives in Vilpiano, fought her way through round after round On the way to the final, she beat several better-classified players, Ruth Malojer and Sophie Verdorfer.
