Czech Kvitova and Dane Wozniacki at the WTA final

The 28-year-old Czech Kvitova benefited from the Dutch Kiki Bertens' exit in the round of XNUMX at the tournament in Beijing on Thursday. This means that Kvitova's place in the field of eight participants can no longer be taken away.

The Dane Wozniacki managed to qualify on her own. Her round of 7 win in Beijing against Estonian Anett Kontaveit (5:6, 4:XNUMX) was enough to secure one of the eight places. Kvitova's compatriot Karolina Pliskova can also secure a ticket for the WTA final in the Chinese capital. To do this, however, the former world number one has to reach the final.

Wimbledon champion Angelique Kerber will also be serving in Singapore. The Kiel native had already secured her ticket for the tour finale for the fifth time at the beginning of September. World number one Simona Halep (Romania) and US Open champion Naomi Osaka (Japan) are also there.
