With his tenth title at the Australian Open, Novak Djokovic has once again taken the top spot in the world rankings. The 35-year-old Serb replaces Spaniard Carlos Alcaraz, who is currently sidelined with an injury. Rafael Nadal, who is also currently suffering from a hip injury, has dropped four places and is now only number six in the world.

With a victory in the final of the Australian Open, the Greek Stefanos Tsitsipas would have become the new number one. After the clear defeat against Djokovic, the Greek is now in third place.

Jannik Sinner, however, has been the highest-placed Azzurro in the world rankings since Monday - even if the 21-year-old from Sexten lost one place and slipped to 17th place after his round of 18 exit against Tsitsipas. Sabalenka new number two In the women's category, Belarus' Aryna Sabalenka moved up three places after her first triumph at a Grand Slam tournament and is now in second place.
