Why this talent doesn't want anymore at the age of 21

Once one of the most promising talents in the tennis circus, Amanda Anisimova has now taken an indefinite break from tournaments for health reasons.

As the 21-year-old former number 21 in the world rankings announced, she has been having problems with her mental health and burnout since the summer of 2022. “It has become unbearable to take part in tennis tournaments. At the moment my main concern is my mental well-being and giving myself a break. “I worked as hard as I could to get through it,” the American wrote.

Anisimova's greatest success on her record is the semi-finals at the 2019 French Open. She has also celebrated two tournament victories on the WTA tour. The current number 46 in the world recently lost in the first round of the tournament in Madrid. “I will miss being out there and I am grateful for all the continued support,” she said.

Her father died in 2019, after which the American fell into a hole from which she freed herself last year. At Wimbledon, for example, she reached the quarterfinals. It is not clear whether Anisimova will return.
