World ranking: Knapp is pushing forward - Seppi remains number 18

The Ahrntal native, who has lost countless places in recent years due to injury breaks, is working her way back to the absolute top in the world. After recently celebrating her return to the top 100, she has now gained another eight places. She is currently in position 731 with 90 points. However, due to missing qualification at the Portugal Open, she will lose a few places again this week. In Estoril last year she made it to the semi-finals. Julia Mayr has already lost further ground and has now slipped to 446th place due to her break.

Andreas Seppi, however, remains in 18th place among men. This is still his best placement in the world rankings. After the early exit last week in Bucharest, Italy's best tennis player will be fighting for redemption in Portugal in the coming days. The two South Tyroleans Thomas Holzer and Patrick Prader also have an ATP point.

World ranking: Knapp is pushing forward - Seppi remains number 18

On Monday, the world tennis associations WTA and ATP published the updated world rankings. While Andreas Seppi remains one of the best 20 players on the planet, Knapp has made it into the top 90.
