World rankings: Knapp slips out of the top 100

The most successful local tennis ace, Andreas Seppi, who is currently slightly ailing, is in 51st place among men. He is currently Italy's number three behind Fabio Fognini (33rd) and Kitzbühel winner Paolo Lorenzi (41st). Beyond the top 1.000 are the other South Tyroleans Joy Vigani, Patrick Prader, Alexander Weis and Manfred Fellin.

Meanwhile, Karin Knapp has suffered a setback in the women's ranking. Although she reached the quarterfinals in Bastad, she fell 20 positions to 105th. She was awarded 60 points for her performance in Sweden, but was unable to defend the 180 points from the previous year when she reached the final in Bad Gastein. Jasmin Ladurner, Verena Meliss and Verena Hofer are further down in the rankings.

Novak Djokovic and Serena Williams continue to take the places in the sun with a commanding lead.

World rankings: Knapp slips out of the top 100

The international tennis associations WTA and ATP published the updated world rankings on Monday morning. A total of nine South Tyroleans appear in the international ranking.
