Winter Cup: Rovereto and Brixen win

In the Serie B final, Rovereto clearly had the upper hand 4-0 in the duel with TC St. Christina. A bitter pill for the people of Val Gardena, expectations were quite high after the quarter-final win against Arco and the semi-final triumph against Meran - but in the end the Ladin team's dreams of victory were not fulfilled. In the big final, Rovereto's fast surface played particularly well, while the Val Gardena tennis players repeatedly had problems with it. In the end, only the game between Patric Prinoth and Nicola Vidal was exciting and was only made clear by the Rovereto player in the third set. Otherwise, the Trentino team dominated to the core, with Mattia Lotti having the upper hand against Michael Kerschbaumer and Viola Cioffi being victorious against Laura Mayr. In the doubles, Segarizzi/Vidal beat Kostner/Tröbinger 7:6, 7:5.

Brixen wins Serie C For the fifth time in a row, Brixen won the title in Serie C of the Winter Cup. After the Eisacktal team had mastered their tasks in the quarter and semi-finals against Bruneck and Contrade, they met Argentario in the final. Brixen got two points thanks to the victories of Alexander Hornof and Hanna Zwerger, but had to give up one point because Saro Scaggiante was forced to retire during his performance due to muscular problems. As a result, the doubles served as a deciding factor: Here, the South Tyrolean duo Hornof/Ritsch initially had tremors as the first set was lost 4:6. After that, the two turned up the heat, showed strong nerves in the important moments, converted a break chance when the score was 6:5 and won the second half of the game. In the last set, Hornof/Ritsch comfortably secured victory thanks to a 6:4.
