WTA Doha: Karin Knapp moves into the second round

Karin Knapp continues to ride a wave of success. The 26-year-old from Luttach, who led Italy to victory over the USA in the Fed Cup last weekend, also survived the first round of the WTA Premier tournament in Doha (prize money of $2.440.070). Knapp defeated French number 76 in the world rankings, Caroline Garcia, 1:38, 6:4 in 6:1 hours of play.
