WTA Rome: Knapp/Vinci fail in the first round

For Karin Knapp, the doubles tournament at the WTA premier tournament “Internazionali d'Italia” in Rome (2.183.600 dollars in prize money) ended after the first round. The 27-year-old from Ahrntal and Roberta Vinci had to admit defeat in two sets 6:3, 6:4 on Tuesday evening against the number 6 seeded Czech duo Andrea Hlavackova/Lucie Hradecka.
