Young table tennis players have determined national champions

61 athletes from eight different clubs came to Sarntal on Saturday, May 13th to determine the VSS/Raiffeisen table tennis national champions. ASC Sarnthein won the team competition.

A total of nine VSS/Raiffeisen table tennis national champions in singles and seven in doubles and mixed doubles were determined on Sunday, May 18th in Sarnthein. Five table tennis players won the national championship title in singles and doubles. Sarner's Jonathan Felderer even went one better and won the national championship title in singles, doubles boys and doubles mixed.


In total, of the 16 possible gold medals, six went to the Sarner table tennis young talent, three each went to ASC Auer and TT Südtirol and two medals each went to ASC Neugries and ASV Tramin. The club ranking went to the organizers of the state championship, the table tennis section of ASC Sarntal.

“Everyone won today. You showed us your skills and we can be proud of you,” said VSS table tennis speaker Georg Lotti at the award ceremony. “A big thank you also goes to all the coaches, supervisors and parents who support the children and enable them to practice the sport,” said VSS chairman Günther Andergassen. Together with VSS managing director Daniel Hofer, they presented the young table tennis players with their well-deserved medals and trophies.

The table tennis players will celebrate the end of the season on Sunday, May 21st with the VSS/Raiffeisen family tournament in Bolzano. Then the young talents compete together with their relatives in the Pfarrhof sports zone.
