Kalterer See Triathlon is celebrating its 25th anniversary

The event was a huge success and is now an integral part of the South Tyrolean sports calendar. This year the international Lake Kaltern Triathlon will take place on Saturday, May 4th.

As in previous years, the triathlon will be held over the Olympic distance (1,5 km swimming, 40 km cycling and 10 km running). Enrollments are currently in full swing. Those who have announced their participation include the two South Tyrolean figureheads in triathlon Daniel Hofer, who won in Kaltern in 2011, and young talent Matthias Steinwandter.

In total, the local athletes celebrated six successes at the international triathlon competition in Übertetsch. In addition to Hofer, Manuela Janesi from Brixen (three wins), Astrid Perathoner from Bolzano and Edith Niederfriniger from Meran (one success each) were also included in the list of winners.

This year, the competition in Kaltern is one of two qualifying races for the U-23 European Championships, which will be held in Holten in the Netherlands.

Kalterer See Triathlon is celebrating its 25th anniversary

25 years ago, the now international Lake Kaltern Triathlon found its origins in Überetsch following an initiative by Paul Sparer and the then president of the Kalter sports club, Hubert Andergassen.
