Ötzi Alpine Marathon: Niederegger and Pircher on the podium

From Naturns it was more than 42 kilometers and 3300 meters in altitude up to the 3212 meter high mountain station on the Senales Glacier: first on a mountain bike for around 26 km, then with running shoes for 11 km and finally 6,7 km on touring skis.

Patrick Facchini reached the finish line on the glacier first. Thomas Niederegger from Stilfs took second place. The Austrian Uwe Hochenwarter crossed the finish line in third place.

The German Susi von Borstel won the women's event. Maria Dimitra Theocharis (Italy) finished in second place, while Anna Pircher from Morter came third.

The 16th edition of the Ötzi Alpine Marathon was on the program on Saturday. The victory went to Patrick Facchini and Susi Von Borstel.
